I can understand why one likes film. I find myself trying to "emulate" the feel of B&W film in PS far too often myself. Good to see some pros who haven't lost that magic despite their needs to publish fast. Really inspiring stuff on this web site, thanks for sharing your ideas.

Hey Chris, I bumped into Mark when he was here in the Philippines. Handed him a couple tiny calling cards. Hope he gets to hand one to you. He said he'd probably see you next week. I might drop by December, maybe we can kick it then.

some of your photos really inspires me, & i appreciate what you do.
I pull up to park my car at the airport and the guy says, “That sounds amazing. I imagine a lot of hot girls dancing to that.”
Since I probably have A.D.D., the best music to listen to – given the ADD – are mixes of music … not complete songs. Besides … it’s like 3 minutes in the car … another 5 … perhaps another 10 … I don’t think I’ve put anything on the iPod in the car on anything other than …
yeah, when i heard about that crash and saw who was injured there, i first had to think of you, because i've always seen some photographs of them by you ...
who believes the press anything anyway? they're only humans after all...a special sort of at some times though

i'm really glad that they're doing better than what i've been hearing on the "news"
hope everything works out and gets even better for them

Palin lost 21 points in an approval poll of some kind over the last week! I was so happy to read that from a reputable "non c*nt" website.
I wish that heart article was real ;)
Posted by on September 22, 2008 3:58 PM
Heart really is donating any fees they get from McCain's use of Barracuda to the Obama campaign. Now if only Van Halen would do the same thing. Don't think Kenny Loggins really cares (seriously, I can't hear Danger Zone one more time)
its a shame on all front...that much of popular journalism's integrity has shot down the toilet like a big...well you know what I mean. Well, thats popular "journalism" for you. In the course of their own "reporting" they seemed to have become what they're reporting.
But its also terrible about travis and AM! I read it and saw the photos of the crash and it was fucking horrific. If you happen to see any of them, tell them relatively obscure folks from uber send their well wishes. Sometimes its not until stuff like this happens that we realize that the "don't take shit for granted and live life to the fullest" isn't just poser sentiment but has some truth behind it...ah well.
cheers dude.

very sad news. i don't have cable or really read any entertainment news, so this is the first i've heard of the tragedy. i've heard a lot of sad news lately... my good friend's parents were coming home from their youngest daughter's college graduation, with her in the car, and were hit head-on by a driver making a left on red. the parents died... daughter survived, spent two weeks in a coma, had pretty critical head trauma, but is home now and walking already. tragedies abound. at least there were survivors of the crash... it boggles my mind that anyone could survive a plane crash.
sorry about that. I knew that on TV .. Hope they can get better.. If you have some kind of knews, please share with us.
just have faith, chris

man, i got a text from my girlfriend while i was practicing with my band telling me about it since we both love travis and am's music and were huge blink 182 fans as kids- i was so shocked to find out but was so happy that they were alive. it must be so hard for them about the 4 that died, though, that's really tough! :( death sucks ... i hope travis and adam fully recover as soon as possible and wish the best for the families of the 4 that died. :(
Posted by on September 21, 2008 5:12 PM
Dude, I know! I saw it on all the local RSS feeds from back home yesterday morning. My thoughts go out to them...
Be safe on that plane!

thats some sad shit mate :(
Posted by on September 21, 2008 9:29 AM
Ohh man that sucks! Hope they get better soon and especially that they don't have to live with any serious injuries. My thoughts are with them!
Hope you're doing well! Take care!

no.. I did not hear that but have been playing b 182's amazing some of those tracks

heard about this this morning from my boss, actually thought about you when I heard and the shots you took from their set at a club... seems crazy...
Posted by on September 21, 2008 12:46 AM
Just heard about this now, and I'm quite shocked. I spent most of my teenage years listening to Travis and the rest of Blink. I sure hope he gets better soon. As for DJ AM, I'm not very familiar with him, but I am very sure he's a great guy. I can't quite imagine how this might have happened. O
Keep safe in Vegas.

I just heard it on the news. It's horrible news! I hate hearing such stories. I question so many times why things happen. I still don't have an answer and I don't think I ever will understand why such tragedies happen. Life is crazy at times, okay most of the time.
Posted by on September 20, 2008 10:45 PM
i saw the news last night as well....
i hope they're okay. i thought of you since you're the only one i "know" who knows Am and from what i've seen you've never had anything but praises for him
so i hope you're okay as well
it is so tragic that the others died...
lives cut short..... really sad.
im sure he and travis will be alright soon. fingers crossed

Hi Chris, I hope your friends are ok.
Hope you're ok too!
Stewart.

Man, the EXACT same thing happened to me this morning! I woke up with seven text messages - some from friends we have in common and some from people who knew I'm kinda friends with him. It's been a rough week for me personally and this scared the shit out of me.
AM is the homie! He's so amazing and talented and travis too. I wish them the best. They and the other four are in everyones prayers tonight.
sorry to hear it was a rough week, man. i just got an email and some texts which made my weekend a bit happier, albeit for travis and a.m., since i have to work a stressful event.
am is totally the homie and such an amazingly talented person. travis, too, i just don't know him all that well but we "recognize each other." they used a photo on people.com i made of he and shana. totally wish them best and i think all of the wishes they have coming their way worldwide have actually helped.
the other four ... totally ... sorry anyone has to have their lives cut short.
Travis is from my hometown of fontana. one of the very few people that give that city a good name.
he owes my friend mike a few grand for tattoo work but other than that I havent heard A bad thing about the guy and as far as dj am I have no clue who that is ( im not big on djs )
hope vegas treats you well

It just makes it all the more horrible knowing what an amazing guy he is.
Posted by Darren Aba... on September 20, 2008 7:27 PM
Saw this on the AP mobile news feed earlier... Thought of you. It was horrible, but it could also have been a lot worse, obviously. It's one of those things where you're not sure how you should feel; relieved, or grieved, or both. It's usually "both".
When I read the news I couldn't believe it, I grew up listening to Blink, he wasn't in the band yet when I got into them but when I listened to Enema, his first record with the band I remembered thinking "who the fuck is their drummer now?" So I've been following his career mostly because he is a great drummer that makes his bands better and the stuff he's doing with dj am is pretty good. the only reason I barely watched the VMA's was just to see the tiny bits of their performances that the network aired.
a lot of people has said that they're great guys, even before this, so you wonder why bad things happen to bad people...
who believes the press anything anyway? they're only humans after all...a special sort of at some times though
