I can understand why one likes film. I find myself trying to "emulate" the feel of B&W film in PS far too often myself. Good to see some pros who haven't lost that magic despite their needs to publish fast. Really inspiring stuff on this web site, thanks for sharing your ideas.

Hi Chris!! I'm finally back to Uber after my hard jobs far from home and the fast internet networks... I saw the street contest page and i hope i will be able to upload one of my "works"! in the last weeks I hanged out with my Yashica GSN with some Ilford rolls... now i'm waiting the prints delivery... and i hope to see some good stuff from them! Thank you very much for this contest! thanks to you and all the people that work in it! (sorry for my rude english)! Thanks!! Cheers!

Hey Chris,
I bumped into Mark when he was here in the Philippines. Handed him a couple tiny calling cards. Hope he gets to hand one to you. He said he'd probably see you next week. I might drop by December, maybe we can kick it then.

Happy Friday Chris,
It's Donato's foster daughter...he adopted her when she was 13 and now she's a bright 20 year old interning with Tarina. Really wonderful.

Hope you and the lovely lady are well! x

however...

in the last week i got packs loaded with the bp fo the 30D, the sigma 24-70 and 70-200 2.8, the 50 1.4 canon, the holga!

Now it's time to create a nice website and start bitching with models and weddings and shit!

can't wait!

cheers,
ovi

PS: Can't find the fucking pinot noir anywhere... coocked some fowl the other day and could have been the perfect choice for that matter! there's white, gris, all the fucking chardonnay and sauvignon you want but no friggin pinot... you really made me curious about that wine!

In the end i chose merlot!

Ok.. have a nice day!

Cheers from the rainy south italy!

Oh... been to naples last weekend... now I know why you like it! ;)

Cheers again...

New site looks good man.
I had a look at clickbooq a while ago, and found that pretty much all the same stuff can be done on Uber, for free... well close enough.
Hope that didnt ruin anyone's day...
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 9:49 PM
thanks.

i'm sure you can do pretty much the same thing but i have to have some separation between here and what i do commercially.
Posted by  on September 24, 2008 2:17 AM
Commercially? What is this 'commercially' you speak of???
I thought all photographers were struggling artists with fringes or jaded old men with too much money and badly designed equipment review websites circa 1999. I'm confusified.... ;)

Your portfolio never ceases to amaze me, everything's shot awesomely, not to mention the celeb factor. More astounded with the 'new' shots. (i actually hit 'i' instead of 'o' so it read 'new shits'. I had a laugh. I love your new shits... haha wtf)

Do you ever get the urge to go to a small town newspaper college magazine and apply for a job? "So ahh can I have a look at your portfolio"
*opens portfolio*
....silence.....

I gotta ask, where (excuse my ignorance brought about by the backwardness of the publications in Australia) does your B&W work get published? All we seem to get over here are the red carpet 'best and worst dressed' bullshit shots in the standard gossip rags for fat bored coffee mums that run over here.

ok that turned into 20 questions.
Posted by  on September 23, 2008 8:30 PM
Love the website brother! Its so great to see your shots in that format and especially some I had never seen before. I like how it flows and the content in each category keeps you hungry for more. Great stuff!

But I didn't know you had a disdain for a certain blogger who steals you material ; ) What's up with that pink freak anyways?

This week is going great... super busy but well
Hope you're doing well yourself.
Take care!
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 9:50 PM
thanks, mate! they do such a great job at clickbooq!

dunno what that guy is up to as he's not allowed in most of the places i go! :)

very well, thank you!

Mate, new site is great. Real good to see some of the other stuff from some of the shoots I've only seen the 'money shot' from eg david lynch.
Always a pleasure to read you and check out your photos,
Lorenzo from London

Loads of stuf i havn't seen before, and i'm loving all of it. I love how much Leica work there is in your Entertainment section.

Anyway, best get back to planning this shoot. Can't wait to get my darkroom back. Far too much film to develop and print. I'm gonna be in hogs heaven next wek.

;)

cheers from england.
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 9:53 PM

When my next year of hosting renewal comes up I'll certainly consider this as an option. It looks great but I'm so used to using my (apparently unlimited) space to transfer jobs to clients in high res (we're talking 600MB+ retouching PSD files).

Do you subscribe to it monthly or did you buy the once off deal?
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 9:54 PM
should be an option! i love simplicity and how clean their design is. a site shouldn't take away from one's photos.

i think i do yearly with them. i don't do once off with anyone. ;)
Posted by  on September 23, 2008 4:32 PM
Went through the site again. Nice to see more photos.

12 under personal..

.. she's gonna say a lot of f words.

Theres a pic of B in the personal section looking mad. I think thats what he is refering to.
I wont even say it work is alway good, Cliqbook is good.
Lovely goodness.

Rrrrrr RRR

Will take a look. We should have "portfolio-assistants". Always a pleasure to update portfolios, as well as looking at updated portfolios.

Mmmm mmmmm

SSSSSSssss

S!
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 3:56 PM
you and your goddamned blinking r's. damn you. ;)

we should ... but ... i dunno if they could edit the way i edit.

the "real portfolio" is being printed. there were things i'm printing that i couldn't put on the web because of embargos. :(

why aren't you at photokina trying to get them to do the next rev of the r sooner?

i love the s but ... i think that there are so many people entrenched in their h3d's that the market traction will be difficult. we'll see.

i'm looking forward to trying it.
Posted by  on September 23, 2008 3:48 PM
Funny, I was just thinking of checking out your site again. With any luck, the part you removed wasn't holding some of the stuff I wanted to see again!

I've seen some other people using clickbooq's stuff, and it always looks great. I know this'll be no exception.
Posted by Chris on September 23, 2008 3:54 PM
hope it wasn't.

thank you , mate! very nice of you to say.

i dropped the wedding stuff for dogs. ;)

feels like the week that has gone on forever. as though i've worked 4 days in two this week so far. i went to enjoy your website once home from work but don't feel like leaving feedback in public comments at the moment.
Posted by  on September 23, 2008 3:31 PM
I saw this place before.. wasn't it part of the first Uber competition? The sites look really nice. I might get one when I decide to turn full time pro (Instead of writing about it!) Looks great!!!! S.
