I can understand why one likes film. I find myself trying to "emulate" the feel of B&W film in PS far too often myself. Good to see some pros who haven't lost that magic despite their needs to publish fast. Really inspiring stuff on this web site, thanks for sharing your ideas.

Hey Chris,
I bumped into Mark when he was here in the Philippines. Handed him a couple tiny calling cards. Hope he gets to hand one to you. He said he'd probably see you next week. I might drop by December, maybe we can kick it then.

Happy Friday Chris,
It's Donato's foster daughter...he adopted her when she was 13 and now she's a bright 20 year old interning with Tarina. Really wonderful.

Hope you and the lovely lady are well! x

yeah ... i have some photos...
but ... i slept too long to do a proper photo-post ... having edited down 3000+ photos from i shot on a set yesterday ... as my friend eduardo showed me and j showed me last week ... you have to see this double-standards video ...

further proving what a fucking scumbag rove is. i'm amazed anyone can watch fox news and not get fucking sick and throw up just a little in their mouth.

i'm finding it very difficult to have any conversation with anyone -- even with friends -- who support mccain-palin.

photos soon! promise. hope you all have an amazing weekend ...

and ... thank you all so much for the comments! you guys are the best.

even if you support mccain and the zealot. just let me know if you change your mind and need a obama sticker. or shirt. ;)

p.s., i hear that leica will make some announcements about "lenses they have no knowledge about" on monday, 15 september. ;)

"further proving what a fucking scumbag rove is. i'm amazed anyone can watch fox news and not get fucking sick and throw up just a little in their mouth."

that's one of the funniest things i've heard in a while.

and speaking of politics and photos, what do you think about this:

"When The Atlantic called Jill Greenberg, a committed Democrat, to shoot a portrait of John McCain for its October cover, she rubbed her hands with glee.
She delivered the image the magazine asked for—a shot that makes the Republican presidential nominee look heroic. Greenberg is well known for her highly retouched images of bears and crying babies. But she didn’t bother to do much retouching on her McCain images. “I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad,” she says."

speaking for myself, i would have just turned the offer down.

if i DID decide to do it, i wouldn't intently set out to make him look bad, that just seems petty to me...

fucking finally ... this big billboard with greenberg's over-fucking-photoshopped bullshit baby photos is gone from one of the major thoroughfares in l.a. i think her work is ... nothing before her photoshop team gets ahold of it.

that being said ... if that mag would have contacted my rep, my rep would have known that i can't stand the current crop of conservatives and would have turned it down. lets say that my rep didn't know conservatives make me sick, i would have still done the most professional job possible.

what she did was ... just stupid.

i'm sure some 14 year old with a rebel and better retouching skills could have done a better job than her. ;)

that's plain stupid, plus, she's a photoshop abuser, two thumbs down. completely unethical what she did.
Posted by Chris on September 14, 2008 3:22 PM
totally.

did you hear about Kanye attacking the TMZ pap?

I caught that episode on-air and laughed my ass off... Then I cried my ass back on, and then off again, in mourning for the death of intelligence in this nation.

I'm looking forward to learning about "lenses nobody can afford" not that I'm bitter at the moment, or anything like that...

BTW, your VM-box is full! ;-)

Well I like bush, and I'm sure Palin has a bush. :) ha ha ha! I know i'm a sick phucker. (Funny but Sick) Obama.... Mccain.... Can I say I'm a little scared across the board. This is gonna be one wild ride for sure.

Well, supposedly the new nocti (f/.95) got leaked by a french magazine (why is it always french magazines?)

Personally, I would love to see Leica do an implementation of the new Panasonic G1. A more Leica-esque body, manual focus, maybe a different sensor and a reasonable price. I'd buy it for street shooting since it's not my main fare and I don't have a lot to spend.

Oh also, when are you guys gonna announce the winner for the street photo contest?
